To graduate from BYU and apply for a Level I licensure in Utah, one Content Praxis Test approved by the Utah State Office of Education (USOE) must be taken and the scores sent to BYU prior to graduation.
Praxis II tests assess content knowledge in specific areas e.g. a student’s major or minor. As of July 1, 2006 all students licensing to teach in Utah will be required to take a Praxis Test in their major AND in their minor to teach in their major and minor. Taking the Praxis test in the teaching major is required before graduation. There is a Praxis test in health and thus all BYU School Health Education Majors should take the Praxis Test in health AND in their teaching minor.

Students planning to leave Utah following graduation, may elect to wait to test in the minor until they see what tests are required in the state where they will teach.
